It’s a busy time for employment law, as the second part of the Closing Loopholes Bill has arrived, after Part 1 was enacted on 14 December 2023. Part 2 of the Bill contains the more controversial Government proposals and was passed by Parliament on 12 February 2024. Royal Assent is expected any day now.
The changes detailed in Part 2 of the Bill (officially titled Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes No.2) Bill 2023) are wide-ranging and complex, so it’s critical that business leaders are across them.
