What you’ll be doing
Payroll Guru (50%)
You’ll be the payroll expert who keeps everything running smoothly.
You’ll:
- Process accurate end-to-end payroll
- Manage STP, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax
- Interpret Awards and employment conditions with confidence
- Maintain payroll and time & attendance systems
- Support managers and employees with payroll enquiries
- Reconcile payroll data and assist Finance with reporting
- Train leaders on payroll processes and compliance
- Help continuously improve payroll systems and processes
People & Culture Champion (50%)
You’ll help create an exceptional employee experience from day one.
You’ll:
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding
- Prepare employment contracts and HR documentation
- Maintain HRIS and employee records
- Support managers with HR policies and procedures
- Track licences, clearances and compliance requirements
- Coordinate learning and development activities
- Assist with People & Culture projects and initiatives
- Help create a positive, connected workplace culture
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who combines attention to detail with a genuine passion for people.
You’ll have:
✔ Certificate IV (or higher) in HR, Payroll or Accounting
✔ At least 3 years’ experience in payroll and HR administration
✔ Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Awards
✔ Experience using payroll and HR systems (PayCat, Employment Hero or similar)
✔ Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
✔ The ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation
✔ A collaborative, positive and solutions-focused mindset
Bonus points if you have
✨ AHRI membership
✨ Experience working in a not-for-profit organisation
You’ll also need
- Working with Children Clearance
- National Criminal History Check
- Current Northern Territory Driver Licence
- Willingness to travel to services across the Northern Territory when required
