About the Role
The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients and visitors attending the clinic. This role is vital in creating a professional, welcoming, and efficient environment while supporting the clinic’s daily operations. You will manage reception duties, appointment scheduling, communication handling, and general administrative tasks, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, culturally appropriate health care services.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Greeting patients and visitors.
- Answering incoming calls, directing enquiries, and taking accurate messages.
- Scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling appointments.
- Sending reminders and assisting patients with follow-up bookings and referrals.
- Entering and updating patient details in patient management systems.
- Assisting with bulk billing, invoicing, and Medicare claims.
- Supporting clinicians with appointment lists, files, and documentation.
- Maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and compliance with workplace health and safety.
This role requires someone who is proactive, dependable, and committed to making a meaningful contribution to the community.
About You
To thrive in this position, we are looking for candidates who can meet the following criteria:
- Current valid driver’s licence (minimum Class C or equivalent).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and respectful approach.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in a busy clinic environment.
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and culturally safe practice.
- Experience in customer service, administration, or medical reception is highly desirable.
