Finance Officer (Part-Time)

Location: Cairns, QLD Hours: 25 hours per week (school hours available) Status: Permanent Part-Time, with potential to progress to Full-Time

Range – $75,000 – $85,000 FTE plus super

The role:

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Finance Officer to join our team in Cairns. This is an all‑rounder role ideal for someone who is flexible and adaptable, enjoys variety, values accuracy, and is confident working across digital systems while supporting both finance functions and client services.

Initially offered as a part-time position (approximately 25 hours per week), this role may grow to full-time as the organisation continues to expand.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts receivable and payable processing
  • Payroll support and processing (experience with SCHADS Award highly desirable)
  • Bank reconciliations and general ledger support
  • Responding to finance-related enquiries and account management
  • Supporting customers and stakeholders through finance and client service interactions
  • General finance administration and reporting support
  • Working across multiple digital finance and payroll platforms

About You

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar finance/accounts role
  • Strong experience in receivables, payables, and reconciliations
  • Payroll experience essential; SCHADS Award knowledge a strong advantage
  • Confident working across digital systems and accounting software
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
  • Customer service or account management experience highly regarded
  • Comfortable working in a role split approximately 75% Accounts / 25% Client Services
