Waminda is seeking a passionate and culturally responsive Women’s Health Physiotherapist
to join our Primary Health & Wellbeing team. Working within Waminda’s Model of Care, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy services with a strong focus on supporting Aboriginal Women’s health and wellbeing.
As part of our Allied Health team, you will provide holistic and person-centred care across clinic and outreach settings, supporting clients with chronic conditions, rehabilitation, mobility,
functional independence, and preventative health needs. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, culturally safe care that reflects Waminda’s commitment to healing, self-determination, and community wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Physiotherapist at Waminda, you will provide culturally safe, person-centred physiotherapy services to Aboriginal women, families, and community members across clinic and outreach settings in the Shoalhaven region.
You will:
- Deliver physiotherapy assessments, treatment, and rehabilitation programs for clients with musculoskeletal conditions, chronic disease, injury, and mobility challenges
- Support clients with chronic disease management, functional
independence, pain management, and preventative health strategies
- Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions including
exercise therapy, manual therapy, and dry needling (within scope of
practice)
- Work within a multidisciplinary primary health care team to
deliver coordinated, holistic care
- Contribute to care planning, clinical reviews, and goal setting
to support improved health and wellbeing outcomes
- Deliver outreach services across community settings, homes, and
clinics to improve access to care
- Promote self-management, health education, and long-term
wellbeing for clients and families
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, reporting, and
communication to support continuity of care
- Contribute to quality improvement, service development, and
culturally responsive models of care
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy with current AHPRA
registration and demonstrated clinical competence
- Demonstrated clinical experience or strong interest in women’s
health physiotherapy (e.g. pelvic health, antenatal/postnatal care,
continence, or related areas)
- Strong knowledge of physiotherapy clinical practice, including
policies, procedures, and culturally safe frameworks in primary health
care or community health settings
- Experience delivering physiotherapy services including
assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and evaluation within a
multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making
skills to manage complex and changing client presentations
- Experience providing informal supervision, guidance, or
mentoring to colleagues or students is highly regarded
- Sound understanding of legislative, ethical, and professional
standards relevant to allied health practice
- Commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed, and
strengths-based care within an Aboriginal Community Controlled
Organisation
- Strong commitment to ongoing professional development,
reflective practice, and evidence-based care
- Willingness to participate in training, supervision, in-service
education, and interagency collaboration
