Waminda is seeking a passionate and organised Administration Officer to support the administrative operations of Miyanga Mirriral Nanga-Mai Gunyah, Waminda’s Residential Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Rehabilitation Service.

This position will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the service by providing high-quality administrative, operational and office support. The Administration Officer will work closely with staff, clients and stakeholders, maintaining effective systems, records and communication processes that support culturally safe and responsive service delivery.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will:

  • Administrative & Operational Support: provide day-to-day admin support, manage communications, coordinate logistics, maintain records, and ensure smooth office operations
  • Team & Service Support: assist team members and collaborate across programs to support service delivery, community outreach, and a safe, welcoming environment
  • Compliance & Accountability: ensure accurate record-keeping, meet reporting requirements, follow guidelines, and support audits, quality management, and compliance activities
  • Continuous Improvement & Development: contribute to process improvements, participate in training and meetings, engage in professional development, and support quality improvements initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Identify as a Female Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person (genuine occupational requirement)
  • Certificate IV or higher qualification in Business Administration or a related field, or a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar administrative role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities, work independently, and show initiative
  • Current NSW/ACT Driver Licence
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while managing competing priorities.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and the ability to learn new systems and databases.

Desirable

  • Experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation setting
  • Knowledge of Alcohol and Other Drugs services and programs
  • Lived experience is valued and may be helpful in this role.
