Verandah Brands is a house of renovation brands, including TileCloud, Yabby, Dawn and Verandah Trade. Our mission is simple: renovating can be overwhelming, and we exist to make it easier.
We are in an exciting stage of growth, scaling the brands, systems, team and operating rhythms required to support a much larger business. That means we are not looking for someone who wants to step into a fully built, highly mature supply chain function and simply keep it running.
We are looking for a builder.
This role is for someone who is operationally strong, commercially sharp and excited by the opportunity to create better systems from the ground up. You will own procurement and inbound logistics across supplier sourcing, purchasing, production tracking, inbound freight and delivery into our warehouse.
We are looking for someone who is AI-native, automation-first and excited to build the next version of procurement and logistics at Verandah. You will help create supplier performance systems, automate purchase order and shipment tracking workflows, improve freight visibility, build practical AI-enabled tools and develop the operating rhythm required to support our next stage of growth.
This role reports to the Senior Manager Supply Chain and will partner across Product, Finance, Warehouse, Customer Service and the broader business.
About you
You are not a traditional supply chain operator who is only comfortable running existing processes. You are someone who wants to create better ones.
You have strong procurement, sourcing, logistics or supply chain experience, but you are also curious about how AI, automation and systems can completely change how this function operates in a scaling business.
You enjoy taking something manual, fragmented or reactive and turning it into something structured, visible and scalable. You are highly organised, commercially minded and comfortable managing lots of moving parts across suppliers, shipments, timelines and internal stakeholders.
You are proactive, detail-oriented and ownership-driven. You are comfortable operating in an environment where not everything is already built, and you get energy from building the process, rhythm and tools that make the function better.
You do not need to be a software engineer, but you do need to be confident with technology, curious about what is possible and excited to actively use AI and automation to reduce manual work, improve visibility and make better decisions.
What you’ll own
Supplier performance and relationships
- You will own supplier performance across lead times, quality, reliability, responsiveness and commercial terms. This includes building supplier scorecards, performance dashboards and accountability frameworks that make supplier performance visible, measurable and easier to manage over time.
- You will identify, evaluate and onboard domestic and international suppliers, creating a reliable and scalable supplier base aligned to Verandah’s product, margin and growth strategy.
Purchase order and production management
- You will manage the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle, from PO creation and supplier communication through to production tracking, shipment readiness and delivery into the warehouse.
- A key part of the role will be moving us toward an automated, exception-based PO management process where routine updates are systemised and manual effort is focused on risks, delays and decisions that need human judgement.
Inbound freight and logistics
- You will own inbound freight across international and domestic suppliers, including freight bookings, forwarder management, carrier selection and shipment coordination.
- You will build a more scalable inbound freight operating model that improves visibility, reduces manual tracking and supports better planning across warehouse, inventory and customer-facing teams.
Cost, compliance and risk management
- You will track expected versus actual inbound freight costs, identify cost-saving opportunities and improve freight efficiency, routing and carrier performance over time.
- You will also coordinate customs, duties, documentation and compliance requirements, creating structured workflows that reduce risk, improve accuracy and avoid unnecessary shipment delays.
Shipment visibility and exception management
- You will help move the business away from manual spreadsheet-based tracking toward clearer, more automated and exception-led visibility across inbound shipments, ETAs, delays and risks.
- You will proactively manage supplier issues, freight delays, production risks and shipment disruptions, creating clear escalation pathways and using data, systems and AI-enabled tools to identify issues earlier.
Quality coordination
- You will support quality control processes including pre-shipment inspections, supplier defect management and corrective action tracking. You will partner closely with Technical Product to ensure quality issues are documented, escalated and resolved in a structured way.
Systems, AI and automation
- You will play a key role in building an automation-first procurement and inbound logistics function.
- This could include automating supplier follow-ups, using AI to summarise supplier updates, improving data quality, building dashboards, creating SOPs, improving documentation workflows and identifying where manual processes can be replaced with smarter systems.
- The focus is practical impact: better visibility, less manual effort, faster escalation, stronger supplier performance and better decision-making across the business.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with experience across procurement, sourcing, supply chain, inbound logistics or a related operational role, ideally in e-commerce, retail, consumer goods, renovation, home improvement or a product-led business.
You will likely bring:
- Experience managing suppliers, purchase orders, production tracking and inbound freight
- Strong commercial acumen and confidence negotiating supplier pricing, terms and performance expectations
- Experience working with international suppliers, ideally including China
- Confidence working with systems such as ERP, WMS, freight platforms, reporting tools or operational databases
- Genuine excitement for AI, automation and future ways of working
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage risk, resolve issues and improve processes
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple timelines, suppliers and stakeholders
- Clear communication and the ability to translate supply chain information into useful business updates
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, scaling environment
