About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer based in Cairns to support the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business nationally. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking and month‑end processes. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners across multiple locations, ensuring timely, compliant and efficient financial processing while contributing to continuous improvement within the finance function.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment runs, billing and debtor follow‑up
  • Perform bank reconciliations, allocate receipts and payments, and support cash flow reporting
  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month‑end processes, journal entries and basic financial reporting
  • Support payroll and employee expense processing (where required)
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners, while identifying opportunities for process improvement
