We are looking for an experienced People & Culture Manager to join us on a 12-month maternity leave contract. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a well-established role where you’ll work closely with our Managing Director and management team to support, develop and engage our people across the business.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Director and partnering closely with managers across the business, you’ll be responsible for managing the People & Culture function and ensuring our people programs, policies and practices continue to support our teams and business objectives.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining a positive workplace culture, supporting managers through people-related matters, and delivering initiatives that enhance employee engagement and performance.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, and talent management
- Partnering with managers to provide practical, commercially focused people advice and support
- Maintaining HR policies, procedures and compliance frameworks
- Providing guidance on employment legislation and workplace relations
- Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and culture initiatives
- Supporting the delivery of Valiant’s People & Culture strategy and organisational goals
- Managing the People team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality HR support across the business
You’ll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, Psychology, Law or a related discipline
- Experience in a People & Culture or Human Resources management role
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, workplace relations and modern awards
- Demonstrated experience working with HRIS systems, with Employment Hero and Culture Amp experience highly regarded
- Experience partnering with leaders and managing a broad range of people matters
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to balance operational and strategic responsibilities
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and a genuine passion for creating positive workplace experiences
