What you would be doing…
As our Marketing Content Executive, on a fixed-term basis of up to 6 months*, you would report to our highly skilled Senior Marketing Manager and work directly alongside a large team of friendly Marketing professionals. The whole team works closely together and is also tightly connected with the whole business, our member partners and business partners. This will give you the great opportunity to both bounce ideas off and learn from each other!
The group marketing team supports the business in three fundamental ways:
- Marketing our own brands to retain existing and attract new members and partners.
- Marketing to our members to promote both our own and our partners products and services (B2B).
- Marketing directly to consumers and clients on behalf of our members to retain existing and acquire new business for them (B2C).
The overall purpose of your job is to support the busy marketing team with content strategies to effectively communicate our brand, membership services and key messages to our B2B audience – our members, business partners and the wider trade. This role requires a strong blend of writing, editing, and communication skills to produce high-quality content for various channels, including the company website, PR, social media, email marketing, and other digital and print materials.
You could be managing a product launch communications plan for our insurance division one day and be promoting our consumer facing touring and adventure magazine the next – this role requires the ability to fully understand the business, its different divisions and our vision during this period of growth.
By building relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and our members, you will thrive on crafting successful communications and owning the storytelling process from start to finish.
To do this, you would…
- Plan and execute email marketing campaigns, including creating content and designing templates.
- Analyse email performance metrics and make data-driven improvements.
- Support the Senior Marketing Manager managing the quarterly inhouse B2B member magazine by researching story ideas, conducting interviews, writing and working with the designer to help present the content in a highly engaging way digitally.
- Supporting the Senior Marketing Manager by liaising with the PR team ensuring key messages are communicated helping to assist with press requests and working on PR briefs.
- Working with the digital team to manage a content calendar detailing key industry trends, dates, and topics to share with our travel agent audience.
- Support with the execution and development of content strategies to align with the company’s marketing goals and brand positioning.
- Research and stay updated on industry trends to identify opportunities for content creation.
- Produce high-quality written content, including blog posts, articles, website copy, social media posts, and email campaigns.
- Create compelling and engaging multimedia content, such as videos, infographics, and podcasts.
- Ensure all content is consistent with the company’s brand guidelines and messaging.
- Work with the commercial team to understand supplier objectives, commercial benefits, and the importance of the partnerships we have with our suppliers.
- Research and write award submissions – helping to collate information, structure submissions, and help with the supporting evidence collation and look for new opportunities.
- Reporting – internal reporting of what’s happening on PR and social.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be great at…
- Editorial skills and content management.
- Being highly organised.
- Have some understanding and experience using CRM systems and email marketing platforms (we use Microsoft Dynamics currently).
- Content creation and digital marketing.
- Writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) and marketing tools.
- Experience with social media management and email marketing platform.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative ideas.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.
And have…
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a marketing role.
- Knowledge of public relations and media relations practices is a plus.
- Have had experience or have an understanding of the travel industry (desirable)
- Educated to degree level and/or a professional marketing qualification (desirable)
- Be happy to get stuck in with a range of different tasks.
- Be confident in meeting members and suppliers at events and on video calls, and on occasion, presenting to them on behalf of the team.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workflow.
*This six-month fixed-term role includes a bonus of 10% of base salary upon successful completion of the contract.
