Terrain NRM is a community-driven, independent, not for profit environmental stewardship organisation. We think innovatively and act collaboratively, combining the latest science with local knowledge to develop sustainable solutions to increase the resilience of the rainforests, reefs, landscapes and local communities of Australia’s Wet Tropics region.
You Are:
This Corporate Officer requires the strengths and focus in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources requirements for the organisation. Key duties include processing new hire paperwork, maintaining employee records in HRIS platforms, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and serving as the first point of contact for staff inquiries. We’re a small corporate services team, so the requirement to support across other areas is essential in our team’s success.
Capabilities:
- Support end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including engagement, retention, training and wellbeing
- Utilise HRIS, Microsoft applications, and other software and systems
- Maintain accurate personnel and organisation records, applying quality assurance/document control principles
- Keep databases and registers up to date
- Follow and maintain good procedures, processes and guidelines
- Contribute to compliance and reporting requirements
- Undertake day-to-day data entry, purchasing, events and travel support, and assist with staff amenities
Skills and Knowledge:
- High attention to detail for managing system inputs, compliance documents and employee data
- Discretion and integrity for handling sensitive and confidential personal/company information
- Establish and implement good written and verbal communications, and interactions with employees, managers, candidates, and suppliers
- Proactively manage responsibilities and able to adjust priorities to respond to changing business needs
- Strong organisation skills and time management practices
- Able to be flexible, adaptable and proactive to support broad organisation administration-based tasks as a Corporate Services team member
- Commitment to continuous learning and self-service practices
What’s next:
This role is based in the Wet Tropics region, with flexibility to work from one of Terrain’s offices, with hybrid work opportunities for the right person. Some periodic travel within the region will be required to support Corporate Services functions of the business.
