About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Family Case Worker to join our well-regarded Families and Justice Team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to our Family Restoration and Preservation Program, an outreach service supporting families across Greater Parramatta and Western Sydney. The program focuses on reducing risk, strengthening family relationships, and promoting the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide intensive support and interventions to a caseload of families with children and young people aged 12–16.
- Work collaboratively within a passionate team dedicated to improving family functioning, preventing homelessness, and supporting the preservation of the family unit.
- Build strong relationships and network with schools, police, government agencies, and community organisations to support and grow program outcomes.
- Manage and respond to crisis situations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and their families.
- Deliver targeted case management, including case planning, facilitating case conferences, and completing referrals aligned with identified needs and risks.
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or a related degree
- Minimum of two years’ experience delivering case management to at-risk children and young people.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and trauma-informed practice.
- Full (unrestricted) Australian Driver’s Licence and access to an insured vehicle.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (as required under the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998).
- Current First Aid Certificate.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in the Parramatta and Western Sydney regions.
- Strong rapport-building skills with children and young people.
- Experience working within family systems.
- Knowledge or experience in Brief Solution-Focused Therapy or strength-based practice.
