The SEO Account Manager is the cornerstone of our client relationships at EarlyBird. Your mission is to efficiently manage a high-volume client portfolio of SMB accounts, ensuring they receive effective, pure SEO strategies that drive measurable results. You will be responsible for the full client lifecycle: strategy delivery, performance reporting, and maintaining high client satisfaction and retention. This role requires exceptional organisational skills and a solid working knowledge of foundational SEO principles, including expertise in Local SEO.
Your day-to-day might include:

Managing client relationships for a portfolio of SMB accounts, ensuring satisfaction and retention.

Setting and managing client expectations, including strategy scope, deliverables, and timelines.

Leading regular communication, presenting clear performance reports and future strategies to clients.

Overseeing and executing SEO strategies to increase organic visibility and traffic, incorporating Local SEO tactics.

Providing guidance to clients on optimising website structure and content to enhance SEO performance.

Overseeing SEO tasks like keyword research, content mapping, and technical audits.

Analysing and reporting on campaign progress using tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console.

Liaising with SEO Technicians to ensure campaign results, success and client satisfaction.

Working closely with your team – sharing ideas, learning, and supporting each other.

As with any role, there are requirements, and we want to be upfront so you know what’s expected.
Must haves:
- 1-2 years of Account Management experience in a digital agency setting.
- Strong core understanding of SEO and hands-on experience covering foundational SEO principles (On-Page, Technical, and Off-Page).
- Hands-on experience with SEO tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog).
- Proven familiarity and experience managing SEO for websites built on platforms such as WordPress and Shopify.
- Demonstrable expertise in Local SEO strategies and optimisation.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, essential for handling a high volume of SMB client accounts.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on professional client interaction.
Desirable bonus skills:
- Previous experience specifically targeting or working with Small and Medium Business (SMB) clients in the Australian market.
- Familiarity with marketing automation or CRM platforms.

Salary & Compensation:
We believe in transparency – here’s what this role offers:
- Base salary: AUD $65,000 to $75,000 + superannuation (depending on experience & technical ability)
- We believe in rewarding hard workers, not just giving them more stuff to do with nothing in return. Bonus/performance incentives tied to client outcomes and workload.
