Empower Your Career

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to drive critical platform and connectivity uplifts within our Microsoft Azure environment. This is a broad cloud platform role with a strong networking flavour: you’ll modernise legacy infrastructure, take applications that were originally “lifted and shifted” and re-architect them into true cloud-native solutions, and along the way design and uplift the secure, scalable Azure networking foundations those workloads run on. You will work in a high-demand, high-throughput, highly regulated environment, leveraging your deep Azure knowledge to increase availability, streamline services, strengthen connectivity, and reduce operational costs.

If you’re a strong Azure platform engineer who enjoys getting into the networking layer — or a networking-leaning engineer who wants to broaden into cloud-native platform work — this role is built for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Uplift: Lead the transformation of legacy, lift-and-shift environments into modern, scalable cloud architectures using Azure.
  • Cloud Networking & Connectivity: Design, build, and uplift core Azure networking — hub-and-spoke topologies, ExpressRoute, VPN/site-to-site connectivity, Azure Firewall, NSGs/UDRs, DNS, and load balancing – to keep high-throughput workloads secure, performant, and well-connected.
  • High-Performance Engineering: Design and maintain Azure environments capable of handling high Transactions Per Second (TPS) loads seamlessly.
  • Cloud Optimisation: Leverage native Azure capabilities (e.g., AKS, Azure Functions) to streamline operations, reduce compute costs, and drive system efficiency.
  • Landing Zones & Governance: Build and uplift Azure Landing Zones (Cloud Adoption Framework), using management groups, Azure Policy, and RBAC to enforce guardrails as code and maintain continuous compliance.
  • Containers & Orchestration: Design and operate Kubernetes workloads (AKS), including container networking, to run platform services reliably at scale.
  • CI/CD & Automation: Configure and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation that deliver platform and network changes safely and repeatably.
  • Secure by Design: Embed zero-trust principles, segmentation, and secure perimeter controls into platform and network design, partnering with security teams on policy and firewall workflows.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Deliver platform and network changes through Terraform with peer-reviewed, version-controlled, automated pipelines.
  • Migrations: Support and execute complex environment migrations with minimal disruption to business operations.

What We Want From You

  • Deep expertise in Azure products and services, with a proven track record of cost and performance optimisation.
  • Experience engineering and operating high-performance platforms with high TPS loads.
  • Solid hands-on Azure networking skills — hub-and-spoke, ExpressRoute, VPN/site-to-site, Azure Firewall, NSGs/UDRs, DNS, and load balancing — or a genuine appetite to grow deep in this area.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) through automated, peer-reviewed pipelines.
  • Network security and zero-trust experience, ideally in a regulated/finance environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Landing Zones / Cloud Adoption Framework, Kubernetes (AKS), and configuring CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to Have (Bonus)

  • Bonus: AWS cloud and deployment experience.
  • Bonus: Proven experience executing complex environment migrations.
  • Bonus: Experience designing architectures that achieve 5 9s availability.

What We Offer

  • Meaningful, hands-on engineering work across complex, enterprise-grade platforms and networks.
  • Clear growth pathways from Staff and beyond.
  • A low-ceremony, delivery-focused environment that values engineers who own outcomes.
  • Competitive remuneration and benefits.
  • The opportunity to work alongside highly experienced engineers on challenging, high-impact systems.
