Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a highly motivated, proactive, and customer-focused individual to join us as a Team Leader at Slattery Grays. Based at our Pinkenba site, this hands-on role oversees teams across vehicle and industrial asset receiving, processing and collecting. You’ll be right there in the yard, making things happen every day!

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure a seamless, accurate, and customer-centric experience from asset receipt through to collection, while driving operational efficiency, safety, and a high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire yard and customer service staff across auto and industrial operations to achieve excellence and job satisfaction.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including vehicle bookings, asset cataloguing, task prioritisation, and scheduling to meet service standards and deadlines.
  • Act as the primary on-site contact for customers and stakeholders, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Coordinate vehicle and asset collections, ensuring all information is accurately recorded and updated in the system.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency of booking, receiving, and collection processes.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and use insights to drive continuous improvement and team accountability.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and address any issues.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members’ skills and knowledge.
  • Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion workplace safety, WHS compliance, information security, and a positive, values-driven culture.
  • Proactively maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organised work site.

Requirements

  • Current driver’s licence
  • HC and/or forklift licence desired but not essential
  • Passion for vehicles, plant equipment, and customer service
  • Previous warehouse, yard, or operational environment experience preferred
  • Proven ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, results-driven workplace
  • Experience delivering high-quality customer service and leading a team, ideally within automotive or industrial sectors
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Strong problem-solving and dispute resolution skills
  • Ability to manage workloads, meet efficiency and quality targets, and exceed daily KPIs
  • Positive, resilient attitude when handling challenges and change
