ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Industrial Operations Manager leads and manages the day-to-day industrial operations of the site, ensuring efficient coordination, presentation, remarketing and disposal of industrial assets, plant, machinery and equipment.
The role is responsible for operational performance across auctions, logistics, client liaison, safety, compliance and team leadership, with a strong focus on operational efficiency, risk management and commercial outcomes.
This is a permanent, full-time role (Monday – Friday) with site operational hours between 8.00 am till 4.30 pm.
Main responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and deliver all scheduled industrial and general equipment auctions
- Liaise with Sales teams to coordinate incoming equipment for auction
- Manage direct yard reports to distribute tasks and ensure deadlines and KPIs are met
- Ensure coordination and follow up of online and onsite auctions with Sales and Administration teams
- Determine the best strategy to remarket assets to achieve the best financial outcome, and cooperate with Marketing team on advertising campaigns
- Active relationship development with key company clients through account management
- Prepare proposals and ensure all administrative procedures are adhered to, including agency agreements, signatures and reserves; regular reporting to clients and vendors
- Assist with auction estimates and valuations, including off-site valuations as required
- Liaise with transport contractors to arrange collection of assets on behalf of clients, vendors and collection teams
- Actively contact buyers to ensure all auction items have competitive bidding
- Conduct negotiation of auction referrals between buyers and vendors
- Run operational and safety meetings, foster a proactive, well-trained and engaged WHS culture across the team and ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies and procedures
ABOUT YOU
To excel in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven staff management and strong leadership skills demonstrating calm, confident and mature approach with strong decision-making ability
- Previous operations management experience, ideally in auction, industrial or logistics environments with a sound knowledge of trucks, machinery, plant and industrial equipment
- Strong negotiation skills and financial acumen
- Excellent communication skills with an engaging manner across internal and external working relationships
- Organised, responsive, time and deadline focused
- Good computer (MS Office, CRM) and research skills
- Current driver’s licence required; heavy/medium/combination licence desirable but not essential
- WHS focus with a commitment to consistency and improvement
