About the Role
- As our Credit Controller, you’ll be instrumental in managing our end-to-end accounts receivable function and maintaining healthy cash flow by:
- Managing day-to-day collection of overdue accounts, prioritising high-exposure accounts and liaising with customers to establish payment arrangements.
- Preparing and maintaining cash collection forecasts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Assessing the creditworthiness of prospective customers and providing recommendations to business units.
- Reviewing the debtors ledger monthly for bad and doubtful debt provisions.
- Preparing regular reports on collections performance, aged debtors, and cash flow to support business decision-making.
- Identifying and resolving credit-related customer complaints, billing queries, and payment discrepancies.
- Managing accounts payable functions including supplier onboarding, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining supplier files.
- Coordinating with external legal providers on litigation matters as required.
- Identifying and implementing improvements to credit, payables, and collections processes.
- Supporting Brisbane office facilities management including service providers and procurement.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in credit control or collections.
- Certificate or diploma in a relevant field (Accounting, Commerce, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience in debtor management and credit assessment.
- Strong understanding of credit risk management principles and debt recovery procedures.
- Experience preparing cash flow forecasts and aged debtor reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and formulas.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with ability to secure payment commitments professionally.
- Satisfactory National Police Check (required).
Desirable:
- Experience with cloud-based ERP systems, particularly NetSuite.
- Experience in the recoveries, legal, or mercantile services sector.
- Knowledge of litigation processes relating to debt recovery.
- Experience with trust account transactions.
