Opportunity
Are you

supportive team? Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Services (PAMS) is seeking Work,
Health and Safety Officer to join our organisation.
This
role provides organisation-wide WHS advice, systems support and reporting
oversight to assist PAMS to meet its obligations under the Work Health and
Safety Act 2020 (WA) and associated regulations, codes of practice and internal
policies and procedures. The role supports the implementation of a proactive
safety culture across all PAMS workplaces, including clinics, offices, staff
accommodation, vehicles, outreach and community-based environments.
Key
Responsibilities:
·Provide
practical WHS advice across all PAMS sites.
·Coordinate
hazard and incident reporting and follow‑up actions.
·Support
investigations and corrective actions.
·Monitor
WHS trends and prepare reports.
·Assist
with audits, inspections and compliance activities.
·Maintain
WHS records and documentation.
·Support
WHS training, inductions and safety culture initiatives.
·Contribute
to continuous improvement of WHS systems.
About You
To be
considered for this position, you must have:
·Experience
in WHS, risk, compliance or a similar coordination role.
·Good
understanding of the WHS Act 2020 (WA) and WHS principles.
·Ability
to coordinate WHS reporting, audits and incident management.
·Strong
written communication skills for reports and documentation.
·Ability
to work collaboratively to support safe work practices and safety culture.
·Experience
using electronic reporting and compliance systems.
·Strong
organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
·Willingness
to travel to remote locations as required.

position involves working with a multicultural organisation where the majority
of staff, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait
Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues
affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to
communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait

Organisation
With an
administrative hub based in Newman, in the Pilbara region of Western Australia,
The Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) provides holistic primary
health care to the individuals and families within the remote communities of
Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Kunawarritji.
PAMS aims to
improve the standard of health of the Martu people and all Aboriginal people
living in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia through the provision of
community based, comprehensive primary health care services. We exist to
promote the health and well-being of individual community members and to
relieve sickness and the suffering of the indigenous community as a whole. We
are passionate about providing the highest standard of patient care whilst
incorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of illness.
