Medical Receptionist – Newman Clinic (1 x FTE, 1 x .5 FTE)

Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) is seeking a friendly, organised and
experienced Receptionist to support the day-to-day operations at our
Newman Clinic and to support the practice leadership team. As the first
point of contact for clients and visitors, you will play a key role in creating
a welcoming and culturally safe environment while providing high-quality
administrative support to the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide
reception and customer service support, including answering calls, making
appointments and scheduling services;
- Work
well with others in a diverse and demanding health setting;
- Be
confident taking messages and talking on the phone to resolve or delegate
queries in scope of the position;
- Maintain
strict confidentiality when handling a high volume of client information
with attention to detail, quality and accuracy;
- Knowledge
and experience of Medicare and client registration;
- Coordinate
client transport to and from the Newman Clinic to ensure community can
access all of PAMS services as they need;
- Schedule
external appointments for clients and be confident dealing with hospitals
and other services;
- Set
up telehealth appointments and presentations with clients;
- Manage
email correspondence, document scanning, filing, shredding and data entry
to the patient information system – Communicare;
- Support
the harmonious operations and structure of the Newman Clinic through PAMS
policies and procedures.
About You
To be successful, you will
have:
- Previous experience working in Aboriginal health or
equivalent community organisation, especially working with the Nyiyaparli
(Newman) and Martu (Western Desert) people of the lands we service;
- Previous
reception or administration experience;
- Strong
communication, customer service, attention to detail and organisational
skills;
- The
ability to manage competing priorities in a busy and demanding
environment;
- Committed
to presenting for work, with sound computer skills and task orientated;
- An
understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and the
ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander people.
What We Offer

Salary between $68,304.80 and
$81,124.68 per annum plus 12% superannuation
