Description

About Us

NLC Payroll +MORE is a specialist payroll business with over 18 years of experience delivering managed payroll and consulting services across New Zealand and Australia. Our Melbourne team manages the day-to-day payroll for a diverse portfolio of clients who rely on us to get it right, every time.

We are a people-focused business driven by quality delivery and long-term client relationships.

The Opportunity

This is a newly created role that sits at the heart of our managed payroll service. As our Australian client base continues to grow, so does the complexity of the superannuation obligations we manage on their behalf.

We’re looking for someone to take genuine ownership of this function – ensuring super obligations are met accurately and on time across our full client portfolio, while also contributing to the broader payroll advisor work that keeps our clients’ payroll running smoothly. It’s a role with real responsibility from day one, and plenty of room to develop as you settle in.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage end-to-end superannuation processing across a portfolio of managed payroll clients
  • Upload super files at the close of each pay cycle and follow up with client finance teams to confirm timely payment
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes – staying ahead of what’s coming and updating processes accordingly
  • Act as the escalation point for complex superannuation queries from clients and internal team members
  • Support month-end and ad hoc payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits as required
  • Build trusted relationships with clients as their go-to advisor on superannuation matters
  • Contribute to process documentation, controls, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, or an accounting background with exposure to superannuation and payroll tax
  • Demonstrated experience managing super calculations, clearing house uploads, and payment tracking – ideally across multiple clients or entities
  • An understanding of Australian superannuation legislation and a keen eye for regulatory change
  • High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
  • A proactive mindset – you keep track of what’s outstanding and follow up without being asked
  • Clear, confident communication skills – comfortable translating technical super requirements into practical guidance for clients
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and Excel

What’s On Offer

  • A newly created specialist role with genuine scope to shape and expand your responsibilities over time
  • A friendly, close-knit Melbourne team with a great culture – morning coffees, shared wins, and real support
  • Hybrid working – three days in the office, two from home
  • The stability of an established trans-Tasman payroll business with 18+ years behind it
