Summary:
The Inventory Management Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and availability of stock within our manufacturing facility in Wangara, Western Australia. This position is vital for maintaining precise inventory records in JDE and associated systems, supporting operational efficiency through cycle counts, stock audits, and consolidation processes. The officer will collaborate closely with warehouse teams and management to optimize stock control, enhance inventory processes, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and customer requirements, all while contributing to the Multotec Excellence Program (MEP) focused on continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular checks on stock orders and quantities to ensure accuracy against purchase orders and system records.
- Conduct cycle counts, stocktakes, and reconciliation processes to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Verify that all stock movements (receipts, transfers, dispatches, and adjustments) are accurately recorded in JDE and associated warehouse systems.
- Complete Screening Media Utilisation process in collaboration with sales personnel, ensuring stock levels align with customer requirements and operational planning.
- Review, revise, and approve regular stock orders generated from the Supply and Demand Report, ensuring accuracy, availability, and alignment with Multotec inventory strategies.
- Monitor inventory turnover to identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess stock and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyse inventory trends and usage patterns to optimise stock holding levels and improve forecasting accuracy.
- Generate and interpret inventory reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Sales and Sales Admin teams to ensure timely replenishment of critical stock.
- Track aging stock and initiate actions to reduce write-offs, including communicating with relevant departments about alternative use and options.
- Investigate variances between physical stock and system records, documenting root causes and implementing corrective measures.
- Provide recommendations to improve stock rotation practices (FIFO/FEFO) to maintain product quality and minimise loss.
- Provide first-line support to warehouse staff in the use of scanning devices and JDE software, troubleshooting issues and escalating where required.
- Train and guide team members on correct scanning and system procedures to maintain real-time data integrity.
- Prepare and distribute regular reports on stock levels, variances, turnover, and KPI performance.
- Work closely with warehouse staff, Lead Hands (Inbound and Dispatch), and management to ensure inventory processes run smoothly.
Qualifications:
- Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations (Warehouse Operations) or Diploma in Logistics (TLI50224) is required (or equivalent experience).
- Forklift licence LF (to be maintained).
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in inventory management or a related field.
- Proficient in using inventory management systems, preferably JDE.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
