ABOUT THE ROLE
As an essential part of the team at MESHKI, a Warehouse Assistant in our Dispatch department plays a crucial role in the seamless fulfilment of our customer orders. This position will be based at our MESHKI Warehouse and requires individuals to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, carefully picking and packing items to ensure that orders are processed accurately and promptly.
We are seeking immediately available casual staff with availability Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 6:00pm, and Saturdays from 7:00am to 11:30am. Additional availability for afternoon and night shifts during November – December is required. Due to fluctuating business needs, successful candidates should be flexible across the week, with preferred availability on Mondays as this is our busiest day.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Picking items using barcode scanners accurately and efficiently
- Packing customer orders securely using appropriate packaging materials and affixing shipping labels
- Processing returns – quality checking items for damage or defects before repackaging and putaway.
- Routine stocktaking
- Assist with unloading trucks; receiving/processing stock
- Moving stock into pick locations
- Maintain a clean and organised work area within the warehouse
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Prior experience in a warehouse; Logistics or Retail environment preferred
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet daily KPIs
- Understand and execute instructions from management
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrate safe work practices at all times
