Koorana Child & Family Services is seeking a senior business professional with strong financial
and governance expertise, strategic insight and a collaborative approach to join our Senior Leadership Team, part time 2-3 days per week. Reporting to the CEO, you will play a key role in supporting the Executive Leadership Team through high‑quality financial management, compliance and advice.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Working in partnership with Koorana’s external CFO to support finance functions, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll oversight, audit coordination and compliance.
- Providing strategic financial advice, modelling and scenario planning to support decision‑making by the CEO, Leadership Team and Board.
- Overseeing funding acquittals, BAS, PAYG and other external reporting obligations meet Koorana’s requirements.
- Overseeing payroll governance, statutory reporting and reconciliations.
- Managing relationships with finance partners, banks, insurers and funders.
- Leading and supporting a small finance team and overseeing outsourced finance services.
- Overseeing financial systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Attending and supporting Board Finance Committee and Board meetings.
- Serving as Company Secretary and supporting Board governance and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related field are highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of financial governance, compliance and risk.
- Proven experience working with Boards and executive leaders.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.
- Experience in the not‑for‑profit or community services sector (highly desirable).
- Experience with XERO, Employment Hero and payroll systems (desirable).
- A proactive, collaborative and values‑aligned approach.
