About Us

Kiama Community College Limited (KCC Ltd.) operates as a community-based, not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) committed to delivering high quality, accessible vocational education that genuinely changes lives.

We are more than a community college; we are a connected education ecosystem serving the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions. We support people to learn practical skills, gain qualifications and improve their opportunities in a way that is local, inclusive and responsive to community needs.

Through our partner organisations, including the Hair & Beauty Academy, the Outdoor Academy, Shoalhaven River College and South Coast Community College, we offer a diverse and flexible learning environment across multiple education and training pathways. Operating under one umbrella we create meaningful, varied and impactful opportunities for learners and staff.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, people-focused HR services across a dynamic and growing organisation. As HR Officer, you will coordinate the full employee lifecycle—from recruitment through to onboarding, performance support and compliance—while working closely with managers and the HR Lead.

You’ll help ensure our HR practices are consistent, compliant and efficient, and contribute to a positive employee experience that supports our broader mission of changing lives through education.

Up to full-time (37.5 hours per week) with part-time (minimum 28 hours per week) considered for the right applicant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle processes
  • Prepare employment documentation (contracts, variations and correspondence)
  • Provide first-level HR advice to managers and staff on policies, procedures and employment conditions
  • Support performance planning processes, probation tracking and capability initiatives
  • Maintain HR systems, personnel records and compliance registers (including probity requirements)
  • Act as HRIS super-user, supporting system improvements and workflow optimisation
  • Assist with governance processes, reporting and HR projects across the organisation

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Human Resources or related discipline (minimum)
  • Demonstrated experience in HR, recruitment, administration or governance support
  • Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • National Criminal History Check
  • Full Australian working rights

About You

You will bring:

  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to interpret policies, procedures and employment conditions
  • Confidence providing advice and support to managers and employees
  • A proactive approach to improving systems and processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound judgement, with the ability to escalate complex issues appropriately

Why Work With Us?

  • Access to not-for-profit salary packaging (up to $15,900 per annum)
  • Meaningful work supporting diverse learner pathways
  • Opportunities for professional development and cross-campus collaboration
  • A supportive, inclusive and child-safe workplace culture
  • Flexible working arrangements supporting work-life balance
