With a well‑established, high‑performing territory and strong customer relationships already in place, this role offers the rare chance to step into momentum and take it to the next level.
About the Role
This is not just another sales role. It is a front-row seat in the future of eye care.
You will represent innovative ophthalmic devices and consumables that are used every day to restore and protect sight, working in close partnership with ophthalmologists and medical teams. This is a hands-on, clinically engaged role where you will spend regular time in the operating theatre, supporting surgical cases and contributing directly to better patient outcomes in real time.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will take full ownership of a defined territory, managing established accounts while actively identifying and driving new growth opportunities. It is a fast-paced, relationship-led role that rewards autonomy, accountability, and the ability to truly make an impact.
The territory covers Northern NSW, including the Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter region through to the Far North Coast. Ideally, the successful candidate will be based in the Central Coast or Newcastle region.
Who We Are Looking For
We are open to candidates from two strong backgrounds:
Medical Device Sales Professionals
- Previous experience in medical device sales, ideally within hospitals and operating theatre environments.
- A proven ability to develop relationships, influence clinically and consistently achieve sales targets.
OR
Clinically Qualified Ophthalmic Professionals
- Optometrists or Orthoptists seeking a career change into medical device sales.
- Strong communication skills, commercial curiosity and confidence engaging with surgeons and clinical teams.
- The drive, resilience and motivation required to succeed in a results focused sales role.
Full training, coaching and ongoing support will be provided to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow sales across an established Newcastle / Hunter region territory.
- Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with ophthalmologists, clinicians and key decision‑makers.
- Provide in‑theatre support for ophthalmic procedures and product use.
- Execute territory plans to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Identify growth opportunities and proactively develop new business.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasting and reporting.
