HDS is one of Australia’s fastest-growing cold storage logistics providers. Our Clayton depot runs fast-paced Dairy and Foodservice pick and pack operations, and we’re looking for a Warehouse Supervisor who can step in, hit the ground running, and make an immediate impact.
The Opportunity:
This isn’t a role for someone who manages from behind a desk. We need a supervisor who leads from the front – someone who will get on the floor, pick alongside the team, and set the pace. At the same time, you’ll need to step back when it counts to plan, roster, and think ahead for the week. The team needs strong, visible leadership and that’s exactly what this hire is about.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the afternoon shift across Dairy and Foodservice pick and pack operations, working alongside the team on the floor daily
- Set the pace and drive productivity, accuracy, and throughput to meet shift targets
- Plan, roster, and forecast for the week ahead to ensure the team is positioned to perform
- Build team culture, provide clear direction, and develop individuals within the team
- Operate forklifts as required in support of shift operations
- Liaise with depot management to ensure a smooth shift handover and consistent reporting
- Uphold WHS, food safety, and cold storage compliance standards across the shift
You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role, ideally within cold storage, dairy, or foodservice logistics
- A hands-on leadership style – you lead from the front, work alongside your team, and hold yourself to the same standards you set for others
- Strong planning and organisational skills – you can manage the immediate demands of the floor while keeping an eye on the week ahead
- Experience rostering and managing a warehouse team in a fast-paced, volume-driven environment
- Current forklift licence (LF) – high reach experience is a bonus but not essential
- Physically capable of working on the floor and picking product alongside the team when required
- Comfortable working in temperature-controlled environments including chilled and cold storage areas
