About the Role

Reporting to the Despatch & Logistics Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all despatch operations including stock preparation, cleaning, labelling, pricing, packing and dispatch of products across multiple customer channels. Leading a team of up to 4 Team Leaders and 20 Nursery Hands in our busy periods, you’ll ensure daily operations run safely, efficiently and on schedule while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead, coach and develop high-performing despatch team.
  • Coordinate daily despatch operations to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Plan labour resources and prepare weekly rosters.
  • Conduct performance reviews, probation meetings and ongoing coaching.
  • Ensure products are packed, labelled and presented to the highest standards.
  • Work closely with Sales, Production and Transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Manage stock quality, minimise waste and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Champion workplace safety and lead toolbox meetings.
  • Drive a positive team culture built on accountability, communication and collaboration.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be an experienced operations leader who enjoys motivating teams and delivering results. Ideally you’ll have:

  • Experience leading teams in a warehouse, production, manufacturing or nursery environment.
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of plants or horticulture (highly regarded).
  • Certificate IV in Horticulture (desirable but not essential).
