Assistant National Operations Manager

The group has a fleet of 120 prime movers, over 450 trailers and 35,000 sqm of warehousing. We’re seeking an experienced Assistant National Operations Manager to support our operations.

The role

Working closely with the National Operations Manager, you will:

• Coordinate freight, labour and equipment to meet daily customer requirements
• Support and lead operations employees across the Mildura depot
• Monitor KPIs, costs, service levels and equipment utilisation
• Manage performance, training and workforce requirements
• Work with the workshop, warehouse and yard teams to maintain operational continuity
• Ensure compliance with WHS, Chain of Responsibility and quality requirements
• Step into key operational roles during planned and unplanned leave
• Identify and drive continuous improvement across transport operations

About you

You will bring:

• At least five years’ transport industry experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated people-management and leadership experience
• Strong operational, customer-service and problem-solving skills
• Sound knowledge of transport safety and compliance requirements
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail
