Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Dog Trainer to work with our greyhounds in the Londonderry adoption centre and prepare them for pet life. The Trainers work closely with the Head Trainer and Site Manager to optimise the number of retired greyhounds re-homed via fostering or adoption across NSW and the USA in line with industry, regulatory, organisational and strategic objectives. Please note that this is a casual role and requires flexibility to work on the weekends.

Responsibilities:
- Undertake training and behaviour modification of greyhounds to ensure dogs are prepared for rehoming.
- Work with the Head Trainer to ensure that all greyhounds onsite are receiving training every day
- Undertake training of greyhounds to ensure dogs are prepared for rehoming in as per the agreed KPIs.
- Update records and track the progress of dogs being trained, including creating profiles for the dogs on the website.
- Assist with the day-to-day care, enrichment, and training of greyhounds awaiting re-homing
- Assist with the day-to-day upkeep of the facility.
- Represent GRNSW and GAP at a number of annual promotional and adoption events in the regions.
Skills and Experience:
- Qualification in relevant animal handling and dog training, and excellent animal handling skills (or equivalent relevant experience)
- Demonstrated knowledge of canine behaviour, highly regarded.
- Passion for animal care and wellbeing.
- Current full driver’s license; including the ability to operate a van or trailer (or must be willing to undertake training to do so)
- Willingness to travel and work (reasonably) outside normal business hours, including weekends and afternoons.
- Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and computer skills.
