Head of Design
About Fusion Markets
Fusion opened its doors to clients all around the world in mid-2019. Last year, we grew triple-digits across both revenue and clients, and we’re on pace to outdo that again in 2026, outpacing competitors who are decades older than us. We’re a talented team delivering trading products focused on the lowest possible costs for global clients looking to trade Forex, Cryptos, Stocks, Commodities and more. Our clients now trade close to $500 billion every month on our platforms worldwide.
We have big dreams, know-how, and a high bar for the talent we want on the bus* with us to get there. Finance can be serious, but we aren’t afraid to laugh along the way (*note: sorry, we don’t actually have our own bus). You’ll find us in a fancy building in South Yarra (Goldfields House), complete with 6-star amenities: two commercial-grade coffee machines, sparkling water taps, an infrared sauna, pool table and more. We’re also mid-renovation to double our space as the team keeps growing.
Fusion Markets is a place that cares deeply about our clients’ trading experience and how we can improve it, but even more about the people at Fusion who help make it all happen.
The Team You’ll Join
You’ll join our Marketing team, who own the things our clients see: brand, ads, emails, content, web, SEO and the occasional deadline-fuelled fire drill.
This role will report to the Head of Marketing and will lead creative across brand, product, web, paid, social and email. You’ll do senior design work yourself, set the creative bar across the business, manage our Motion Designer, and oversee a team of top-tier freelancers and partners.
What You Will Own
-
Own the brand: Evolve our visual identity end-to-end: voice in design, imagery, illustration and motion into a cohesive system that stands out in a look-alike category.
-
Set creative direction across campaigns + BAU: Lead major launches and always-on activity with one integrated design thread across channels (not a pile of disconnected assets).
-
Design the end-to-end client experience: Unify the look and feel across marketing and core product surfaces from first impression to daily use.
-
Lead UI/UX direction across key product and client experience surfaces, partnering with Product and Engineering, and guiding the Product Designer on user flows, wireframes, prototypes, interface design, interaction patterns, stakeholder feedback and design rationale.
-
Own web + landing pages as conversion surfaces: Lead design in tight partnership with dev and growth.
-
Performance-minded paid creative: Design and direct display, paid social, video and search creative where results are part of the brief.
-
Scalable social + lifecycle design: Build repeatable social frameworks and design email/lifecycle creative with the Lifecycle Marketing Manager.
-
Partner + internal collateral: Create IB/affiliate materials with Partnerships, and culture-shaping internal work (all-hands decks, recruitment, onboarding).
-
Use AI like a power tool (not a party trick): Embed AI into daily workflows—ideation, image/video, variations, copy support, prototyping so we ship more, faster, with taste intact.
-
Lead, influence, and raise the bar: Connect brand identity with product interface standards so marketing, web and product experiences feel cohesive, consistent and scalable.
What Makes You Great in This Role
-
Senior, multi-channel craft: 8+ years and a portfolio with real range including brand identity, digital, web, ads and motion.
-
A brand POV: You’ve built a brand system and can explain the thinking.
-
Tools + fundamentals: Expert in Figma, strong Adobe CC (PS/AI/ID), plus solid UX/UI, typography, layout, colour theory and accessibility.
-
Creative direction muscle: You write clear briefs, art-direct photography/illustration, and can credibly brief and critique motion/animation.
-
AI-forward by default: You use AI tools in your daily workflow and want to help shape how the team uses them.
-
Leadership under load: You lift other designers and freelancers, bring stakeholders along, juggle 5 to 10 moving projects, and present work with calm conviction.
Life at Fusion Markets
-
Work from anywhere weeks: 2 weeks each year to work from anywhere in the world.
-
Hybrid rhythm: work from home one day a week (except Mon & Fri—those are in-office).
-
Leave that stacks: an extra day of annual leave for every year you’re with us.
Growth And Support
-
$1,000 L&D budget each year for courses, programs, or tools you choose.
-
3 covered psychology sessions per year (mental health matters).
-
Unlimited books via our office library—if you want it, we’ll get it.
Culture And Office
-
Plenty of connection: quarterly staff events and volunteer days, morning teas, and fortnightly Friday drinks.
-
Serious work, not-so-serious people: we care about outcomes and still make room to smile.
