Description

Hi there! We’re Five Good Friends.

We’re an approved aged care and NDIS service provider helping our Members (others call them clients) live vibrantly in their own homes. We wrap a care team around them and their families, supported by innovative software that coordinates in the background—so our teams can focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional care.

We’re proud to be a place where purpose meets impact. Every day, our work contributes to helping people live their best lives, and that starts with our people.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Wellbeing Partner to help shape and strengthen how we support the health, safety and wellbeing of our people across Five Good Friends.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating safe, healthy and supportive workplaces. Partnering closely with leaders and teams across the business, you’ll provide trusted WHS advice, drive continuous improvement initiatives and help strengthen a positive safety culture across Five Good Friends.

Alongside leading key safety initiatives and supporting day-to-day WHS activities, you’ll also play an important role in enhancing employee wellbeing. From developing practical frameworks and improving processes to delivering meaningful wellbeing initiatives, you’ll help create an environment where our people feel supported, empowered and able to thrive.

This is a part-time role, ideally 3 days per week, with flexibility for 4 days for the right candidate.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll be leading the ongoing development of our WHS framework, systems and processes, ensuring they remain practical, effective and fit for a growing business.
  • You’ll be providing trusted WHS advice, managing incidents and risks, and supporting compliance across the organisation.
  • You’ll be identifying trends and opportunities through reporting and insights, helping drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
  • You’ll be evolving our approach to employee wellbeing, delivering initiatives that support our people to thrive both at work and beyond.

About You

You’re passionate about creating workplaces where people feel safe, supported and empowered to do their best work. You bring a collaborative approach, strong influencing skills and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact.

You’ll Also Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in WHS, injury management, wellbeing or a similar role, supported by relevant qualifications and/or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS principles, with the ability to provide practical, people-focused advice and support.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to work independently while building strong relationships across the business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive matters with professionalism, empathy and discretion.

A Bonus If You Have

  • Return to Work Coordinator accreditation.
  • Experience managing workers’ compensation claims and supporting return-to-work outcomes.
  • Training or experience in psychosocial risk management, Mental Health First Aid, or other wellbeing-related disciplines.

What’s in It for You

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a role where your expertise, ideas and initiative will help shape and strengthen the safety, health and wellbeing of our people. You’ll enjoy the autonomy to lead and influence change, while being supported by a collaborative People Team that’s passionate about creating a great employee experience.

  • You’ll enjoy a hybrid work environment, combining office connection with work-from-home flexibility.
  • Flexible work options to suit your lifestyle.
  • $500 yearly wellness allowance to spend on anything that helps you feel good outside of work.
  • Extra time off – after 2 years, you’ll earn an extra day of annual leave each year. You can also buy more leave if you’d like.
  • Free, confidential counselling through our Sonder Program.
  • Parental leave support – we top up wages for eligible caregivers, and primary caregivers get extra super during their first year of unpaid leave.
  • Extend our care to a loved one at a special rate. This family member will receive Care Managed services at Self Managed prices (values vary depending on circumstances).
  • We’re a genuinely great place to work – our employee engagement scores are 17% above the industry average.
  • Okinawa trip – after 5 years with us, we’ll send you to Japan to visit the community that inspired Five Good Friends. Flights, hotel and transfers are all covered.
