Practice Mentor

Family Day Care Queensland (FDCQ) | Queensland | Fixed Term  12 month Full Time

Help shape safer futures for children across Queensland.

At Family Day Care Queensland (FDCQ), we believe every child deserves to grow, learn and thrive in a safe, nurturing environment. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and relationship-focused Practice Mentor to join our Enhance Team.

This is a unique opportunity to develop into a mentoring role, beginning with a strong operational foundation before progressing into educator coaching, family engagement and quality practice support.

About the Role

The Practice Mentor is a developmental position designed to build expertise across both operational administration and practice leadership.

The successful applicant will initially work within the administration function of the Enhance team, supporting family enquiries, educator coordination, service administration and operational processes. This foundation will provide a comprehensive understanding of our systems, service delivery and the In Home Care program.

As capability and confidence develop, the role will progressively transition into the full Practice Mentor responsibilities, including mentoring Educators, conducting Educator visits, supporting quality improvement, strengthening compliance and building strong relationships with families and stakeholders.

This staged approach provides an excellent opportunity to develop into a rewarding role that makes a genuine difference in the lives of children and families.

What you’ll be doing

Initially you will:

  • Support family enquiries and onboarding.
  • Assist with educator coordination and operational administration.
  • Maintain accurate records across organisational systems.
  • Support enrolments, bookings and documentation.
  • Build knowledge of legislation, policies and service delivery.

As the role develops, you will also:

  • Mentor and coach Educators to deliver high-quality, child-safe education and care.
  • Conduct Educator visits across Queensland.
  • Support quality improvement and continuous professional development.
  • Monitor compliance with legislation and the National Quality Framework.
  • Build strong relationships with families and Educators.
  • Contribute to recruitment and service growth initiatives.

About You

You’ll be passionate about supporting children, families and Educators while building your own capability in mentoring and practice leadership.

You’ll bring:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher)
  • Experience within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Current Driver Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid qualification
  • Blue Card (or ability to obtain)

Why Join FDCQ?

We offer:

  • A structured pathway into a Practice Mentor role
  • Professional development and mentoring
  • A supportive and collaborative team
  • Flexible work environment
  • Meaningful work that positively impacts children and families

If you’re looking for an opportunity to grow your career while making a genuine difference, we’d love to hear from you.
