About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR Advisor to join our passionate team, based at our Brisbane office providing support across the state.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical advice to leaders and employees on HR and employee relations matters.

• Coordinate and support recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes across the organisation.

• Lead and manage HR projects from planning through to implementation and review.

• Assist with performance development processes and guide managers through low to medium level employee relations matters.

• Assist with annual pay reviews, including award interpretation and benchmarking, to support equitable and compliant remuneration outcomes.

• Create and deliver internal HR training sessions to senior and middle management, empowering them to meet FDCQ’s leadership and operational objectives.

• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, the Fair Work Act, NES, and the SCHADS Award.

• Support the review and implementation of HR policies and contribute to organisational workforce planning.

• Prepare clear, well-structured reports and workforce analytics to inform decision-making.

• Contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace culture.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or studying towards).

• 2–4 years’ experience in a generalist HR role, preferably within a community services, education, or not-for-profit environment.

• Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, and modern awards (ideally SCHADS).

• Strong recruitment, onboarding, and HR compliance experience.

• Highly organised, with excellent time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

• Proven ability to lead HR projects from start to finish, delivering outcomes on time.

• Experience designing and delivering HR-related training to managers and teams.

• Exceptional written communication skills, including report writing and data analysis.

• A strong and effective communicator, confident in providing clear advice, engaging with managers, and influencing positive outcomes.

• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine interest in supporting people and culture.

• Willingness to travel to regional locations as required.
