Senior Security Engineer

Excite Cyber is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to take a hands-on role across infrastructure, cloud, and customer environments.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working across domains, and owning outcomes, not just operating within a narrow scope.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and improving security across both our internal platforms and our customer environments.

You’ll work across network security, cloud platforms, and compliance contributing to both delivery and strategic uplift.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and implement network security solutions (Fortinet stack)
• Support and secure AWS environments (IAM, networking, monitoring, etc.)
• Drive ISO 27001 controls and compliance activities
• Contribute to solution design and pre-sales engagements
• Develop architectures and technical documentation
• Act as a senior escalation point across engineering
• Mentor and support junior engineers

What You Bring

• 5+ years in security or network engineering
• Strong experience with Fortinet technologies
• Solid AWS security knowledge
• Experience working with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, Essential Eight, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work across domains
• Clear communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)
• Kubernetes / container security
• Exposure to SIEM / EDR / SOC environments
• Certifications (AWS Security, CISSP, CCSP, Fortinet NSE)
