Denison Gas is an established and successful gas company engaged in production and exploration activities within the Denison Trough and Bowen Basin. Our facilities are located near Injune and Rolleston, Central Highlands Region, Queensland.
The Opportunity
We are seeking expressions of interest from highly motivated and qualified mechanics to join our growing operations team as an Operator Maintainer – Mechanical. This role is suited to individuals with strong mechanical skills, experience in the oil & gas sector, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of mechanical repairs, maintenance, servicing, and diagnostics.
- Work with fixed and mobile plant/equipment including gas engines, generators, compressors, pumps, heavy/light vehicles, and other rotating equipment.
- Operate process plant, field gathering systems, and wellhead equipment.
- Attend breakdowns and after-hours call outs during the 2-week shift.
- Coordinate and monitor contractors onsite during major maintenance activities.
Skills & Experience
- Experience on diesel & gas fuelled engines within the oil & gas industry (highly desirable).
- Minor and major equipment repair skills in field service settings.
- Proven ability to identify equipment issues and improve availability via efficient maintenance.
- Strong hazard identification, evaluation, and mitigation skills.
- Experience operating gas compression and process equipment.
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems.
- Ability to liaise with engineering and inventory teams.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel).
- Excellent organisation, housekeeping, teamwork, and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications & Tickets
- Experience with Computer Maintenance Management System (MEX).
- Knowledge of Waukesha and/or Caterpillar engines.
- OEM training for engines & compressors (Waukesha, Caterpillar & Ariel).
- Certification Type B for gas fuelled engines.
- Experience with Permit to Work systems.
- Ability to work remotely and unsupervised.
- Truck licence (MR), Forklift, EWP, and working at heights tickets.
- Previous oil & gas sector experience.
Qualifications Required
- Certificate III Engineering in Diesel Mechanic or Light Vehicle Mechanic trades.
- Current Manual Driver’s Licence.
