About the role

We are currently looking for a Transport Allocator. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Operations Manager your key responsibility will be managing a team of drivers. This position will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants a career progression in management.

What you’ll be doing

• Scheduling and allocating all transport requests and deliveries, and determining company driver or subcontractor requirements
• Receive inbound calls providing a high level of customer service
• Monitoring driver fatigue in accordance with Company and legislative requirements
• Analysing equipment and operational tasks to determine we:
• use resources safely and effectively
• identify the most optimal routes, and
• allocate company drivers and subcontractors efficiently.
• Preparing and analysing reports to assess performance against key performance indicators and business plans
• Train, and educate drivers on correct procedures including company policies on pallet control
• Ensuring all scheduled maintenance and repairs are undertaken in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensuring compliance with safety requirements, as well as applicable industry and Company standards
• Liaising with customers to resolve any issues
• Providing operational guidance to drivers on freight type, vehicle requirements, load restraints, and load placement
• Reviewing procedures, processes, and practices to identify opportunities for improvement.

About you

• Minimum 2 years’ experience leading a team and managing assets in a road routing transport operation to deliver business objectives
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of NHVAS, CoR (Fatigue Management, Load planning, and Mass Management), Dangerous Goods Awareness, and Segregation requirements
• Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
• Customer service focus with excellent communication skills.
• Sound computer knowledge including the use of TransVirtual, Outlook, Word, Excel etc
• Proven ability to meet deadlines, achieve performance and productivity targets
• Extensive working knowledge of the geography of Queensland
• Ability to comply with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

• Previous experience and ability in loading vehicles is desirable
