The role

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. This pivotal role involves steering the company’s financial strategy, ensuring robust governance, and driving sustainable growth. You will also lead key transformation initiatives, including system implementation and process optimisation, to enable the next phase of growth. 

This role requires a hands on leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves, immerse themselves in the detail, and develop a deep understanding of our end to end finance function and processes, while leading a close knit team of 4. 

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic foresight, financial acumen, and leadership excellence. 

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business goals, partnering with the CEO and executive team.
  • Governance and Risk Management: Ensure robust financial governance, internal controls, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Capital Structure and Funding: Optimise capital structure, lead financing initiatives, and oversee treasury management to ensure liquidity.
  • Financial Operations and Reporting: Oversee financial reporting processes, providing actionable insights and monitoring performance against strategic objectives.
  • Business Growth and Performance: Evaluate and drive strategic initiatives, providing financial analysis and recommendations for major business decisions.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative culture and aligning team goals with organisational objectives.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the company’s primary financial spokesperson, building relationships with clients, vendors, investors, and key stakeholders.

Requirements

  • CA/CPA/CIMA qualified with 15+ years in commercial finance (minimum 5 years senior leadership), ideally within Banking and Finance industries.
  • Strategic mindset with strong execution capabilities and operational discipline.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence to advise executive team, and board members.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal skills and team building capabilities.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
