Description

Compass is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Canberra Region Manager to lead the operational performance, customer experience, and commercial growth of the ACT region. 

This is a hybrid role combining operational leadership, logistics coordination, customer relationship management, and business development. The role has been designed to strengthen Compass’ local presence within the ACT market, improve service delivery standards, and support sustainable regional growth. 

The successful candidate will act as the local face of Compass across Canberra — ensuring strong relationships with repairers, insurers, customers, and internal teams while delivering operational excellence and driving performance outcomes. 

This role is ideally suited to someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys ownership and accountability, and is passionate about customer service and team performance.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate daily vehicle logistics including deliveries, collections, swaps, and vehicle readiness  
  • Ensure vehicles meet Compass “Ready to Rent” presentation standards  
  • Monitor operational KPIs including delivery performance, utilisation, customer satisfaction, and cost control  
  • Support local scheduling and resource allocation to maximise service levels  
  • Identify operational improvement opportunities and implement practical solutions  
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local repairers, insurers, and referral partners  
  • Act as the primary escalation point for service-related matters within the ACT region  
  • Deliver a high-quality customer experience for both referrers and end users  
  • Conduct regular face-to-face engagement with key partners  
  • Support onboarding and relationship management of new accounts  
  • Support local business development activity and growth initiatives  
  • Identify opportunities to increase file volume and regional market share  
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Operations leadership to improve conversion and retention  
  • Assist in executing local growth strategies and market expansion opportunities  
  • Promote “The New Compass Way” through consistent leadership and communication  
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and service-focused culture  
  • Participate in performance reviews, reporting, and KPI discussions  
  • Ensure clear communication between local operations and national support teams 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Experience in operations, logistics, fleet, rental, automotive, or service-based industries  
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management capability  
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment  
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills  
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills  
  • Current driver licence  
  • Experience in accident replacement vehicles, automotive repair, rental, or fleet management highly regarded  
  • Exposure to sales or account management functions highly regarded  
  • Leadership or team coordination experience highly regarded  
  • High accountability and ownership mentality  
  • Customer-first mindset  
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
