Bogan Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and community focused Team Leader – Library to oversee the daily operations of the newly renovated Bogan Shire Library and lead our dedicated Library Services team. About The Role

As the Team Leader – Library, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the Nyngan Library, supervise library staff and help deliver welcoming, professional and community-focused library services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting Library Assistants and other library staff
  • Coordinating daily library operations and customer service delivery
  • Managing library resources, including stock acquisition, cataloguing and presentation
  • Planning and delivering community programs such as Story Time, Book Week and school holiday activities
  • Promoting library services and community engagement initiatives
  • Preparing reports, grant applications and program evaluations
  • Supporting budget monitoring, grant expenditure and service planning
  • Maintaining a welcoming, organised and accessible library environment
  • Ensuring compliance with Council policies, child safety and WHS requirements

Salary and Benefits

  • Grade 4: $1,299.42 – $1,504.28 per week

What we’re looking for

  • Experience supervising or coordinating staff
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • An ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Experience preparing reports, correspondence or grant documentation
  • A commitment to creating positive community outcomes

Essential Requirements

  • Certificate II in Library and Information Services or a related discipline, or equivalent specialised skills training and relevant experience
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current Class C, P1 or P2 Driver Licence
  • Australian residency or a valid work visa permitting employment in Australia

Desirable

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Previous library experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience with stock ordering, receipting or cataloguing
  • Local Government experience
