About the Role:
The People and Workplace Culture Officer is responsible for supporting the operational management of all human resources/PWC activities. This role assists the People and Workplace Culture Manager to ensure human resources management systems and practices support the functionality of the organisation in achieving business objectives.
The key objectives of the role include:
- Provide an effective PWC support function for each business unit.
- Ensure all employees are compliant with relevant policies and procedures and that any issues are identified and resolved appropriately.
- Ensure that all grievances are dealt with in accordance with relevant Biripi Workplace Grievance Policies and Procedures, resolving any issues swiftly and appropriately.
- Oversee investigations (where appropriate) and manage grievances under the supervision of the HR & Corporate Manager.
- Support the management of WH&S policies, procedures, and supporting documents for the organisation ensuring they are reviewed regularly and remain compliant with legislative changes.
- Monitor and manage the WH&S incident reporting and notifications, ensuring that incidents are followed up with the relevant workplace manager.
- Manage and monitor the effectiveness of the Emergency Management arrangements.
- Oversee the Biripi Return to Work Program in collaboration with third-parties, such as rehab providers.
- Provide administrative support for the overall People & Workplace Culture function including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, employee induction, training and development, employee surveys, performance management, counselling and offboarding.
- Coordinate the development, delivery and evaluation of staff learning and development programs and the implementation of an annual corporate training plan.
- Ensure that exceptional internal customer service is offered on every engagement.
- Ensure all personnel records including online HRIS are in order and up to date.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in relation to PWC activities and develop initiatives to address these areas for improvement.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated interest in Human Resource Management and programs.
- Experience working within a Human Resource, or People and Workplace Culture (PWC) environment.
- Knowledge of Human Resource functions (pay & benefits, awards, legislation, industrial relations, recruitment, performance management, learning & development).
- Understanding of WH&S and Worker’s Compensation.
- Confirmation of Aboriginality (preferred)
- High level time management and organisational skills.
- High level problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Sound level of literacy and numeracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated initiative and proactive mindset
- High level of interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly within tight time schedules and in accordance with variable workload demands.
- High level of computer literacy and a sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office standard applications
- Ability to a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
- Current valid driver’s licence
