About Us

We believe our people are at the heart of everything we do here at Benmax. As a proudly Australian, family-owned business with 40 years of experience, we’ve built our reputation by delivering quality solutions, investing in our people and creating opportunities for growth.

From commercial mechanical services to innovative cooling solutions supporting Australia’s AI and data centre infrastructure, we’re continuing to grow, and we’re looking for a People & Culture Administrator to grow with us.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start or further their career in People & Culture. You’ll become part of a team that’s genuinely invested in your success, gaining hands on experience across Human Resources, recruitment and learning and development while being mentored by experienced specialists across the HR lifecycle.

With broad exposure across HR disciplines, this role offers plenty of opportunities to build your skills and knowledge, develop into a well rounded People & Culture professional, and grow a long term career at Benmax.

About the Role

As our People & Culture Administrator, you’ll provide administrative and coordination support across the full employee lifecycle. No two days are the same. One day you might be speaking with candidates, coordinating interviews or preparing employment documentation, and the next you’ll be organising training, supporting onboarding or assisting with employee initiatives.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people, builds relationships naturally and communicates confidently with candidates, employees and managers. You’ll be one of the first people our candidates and employees interact with, so you’ll play an important role in creating positive experiences and representing the Benmax brand.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support recruitment activities, including candidate phone screenings, interview scheduling and maintaining regular communication with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Prepare People & Culture letters and documentation, and coordinate pre-employment requirements such as reference checks, police checks and medicals.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding and other employee lifecycle milestones, including probation reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.
  • Coordinate internal and external training schedules with RTOs and managers, and track trade licences, high risk work tickets and mandatory safety certifications.
  • Assist with apprenticeship, cadetship and graduate program tracking, along with professional development documentation.
  • Act as a first point of contact for employee enquiries, building positive working relationships across the business.
  • Support careers expos, employer branding and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas to improve processes and enhance the employee experience.

About You

We’re more interested in finding the right person than someone who ticks every box. If you’re enthusiastic, organised and genuinely enjoy working with people, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business or a related field, or be working towards one (highly regarded).
  • Previous administration experience, with HR or recruitment experience highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An outgoing, personable approach, with the ability to build genuine relationships and communicate confidently with people at all levels.
  • A proactive attitude, strong initiative and a genuine desire to learn.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and the ability to pick up new systems quickly.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit your resume along with a cover letter telling us why you’re interested in this opportunity, what attracts you to a career in People & Culture, and what you believe you’ll bring to the Benmax team.

Please note: candidates must have permanent working rights in Australia. We do not offer sponsorship.
