Maintenance Officer / Handyman

About the Role

We’re seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Officer to join our Seabeach Gardens retirement village. This is a part-time role (4-5 days / 30-36 hours) offering flexibility and work-life balance.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining a safe, well-presented community and supporting our residents day-to-day.

Key Responsibilities

• General maintenance and repairs (carpentry, painting, minor plumbing, basic electrical)
• Planned and reactive maintenance across the village
• Coordinate and supervise external contractors
• Respond to maintenance requests from residents and management
• Maintain buildings, equipment, and shared spaces
• Support village presentation, grounds, and move-ins
• Ensure compliance with WHS standards
• Participate in occasional after-hours callouts

About You

• 3+ years’ experience in maintenance, facilities, or building services
• Strong all-round handyman / trade skills
• Organised, proactive, and solution-focused
• Confident working with contractors and suppliers
• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
• Enjoy working in a community or retirement setting

Requirements

• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Availability for 4 – 5 days per week
• Flexibility for occasional after-hours support
