About the role

We are looking for a people-focused HR Coordinator to join our amazing Kempsey team. This is a hands-on, generalist role that sits at the heart of our operations – supporting our manufacturing workforce with the full range of HR functions covering the employee lifecycle – from recruitment, onboarding, training through to employee relations, compliance and safety.

Reporting to the Head of HR, this is great opportunity for an HR professional who values purpose driven work, community connection and the satisfaction of contributing to an iconic Australian institution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Own end-to-end recruitment – from job ad to first day – for roles across the facility.
  • Deliver a great onboarding experience that sets new starters up for success.
  • Maintain and manage the HRIS system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date employee data, along with the efficient administration of all HR-related processes and documentation.
  • Be the go-to for managers and employees on all things HR – practical, timely, and trusted.
  • Provide support with employee relations matters.
  • Assist in the coordination of training programs and workforce capability tracking.
  • Be a Safety advocate – support WHS initiatives and assist with incident management and return-to-work.
  • Assist in driving engagement and culture initiatives that reflect who we are as a team and a community.

About you

You bring a genuine passion for people with the ability to build trusted relationships, and a practical, solutions-focused approach to HR – from navigating complex matters to rolling up your sleeves for day-to-day administration (and everything in between).

  • Experience in a similar role HR role.
  • HR qualification (or currently studying) advantageous.
  • Exposure to WHS processes and procedures.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
