About the role  Starboard IT is an Australian services provider established in 2016, delivering reliable and personalised technology solutions to businesses across Australia. We specialise in IT support, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies. We are committed to providing high-quality, customer-focused services and practical solutions that help our clients achieve their business goals. This role supports a range of businesses across the group, with an initial focus on building the MSP pipeline. Backed by the C‑Suite and Group Marketing team, the role will play a key part in continuing to grow a strong client base nationwide. It is well suited to someone with an MSP background who is keen to further develop in this space, with exposure to enterprise and SaaS offerings that the group will actively support and foster.

 

You’ll own new business development in Melbourne and nationally, building relationships with mid-market and enterprise clients and positioning our Managed Services offering to solve real IT problems. You’ll be selling solutions across cloud, networking, cybersecurity and infrastructure, with Microsoft and Azure front and centre.

What you’ll be doing

  • Hunting and developing new business opportunities across Melbourne and nationally
  • Running the full sales cycle – discovery, proposal, negotiation, close
  • Building trusted relationships with IT managers, Operations leads and C-level stakeholders
  • Developing tailored proposals and solution recommendations
  • Managing your pipeline, forecasting and reporting accurately

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years in MSP or IT solutions sales — you know the space and you know how to sell
  • Hands-on familiarity with Microsoft and Azure solutions (M365, Azure IaaS/PaaS, security stack)
  • Solid understanding of IT environments: cloud, networking, cybersecurity, infrastructure
  • A consistent track record of hitting or exceeding targets
  • Comfortable leading senior stakeholder conversations and running complex sales cycles
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can put together a compelling proposal
  • Full working rights in Australia
