About Zembl

Zembl saves businesses time and improves their bottom line. Our long, strong industry relationships help businesses buy better energy. We have local experts who’ll pick up the phone, have a chat and understand customer needs to take the legwork out of admin. Our simple digital platform and helpful people make admin easy, even pleasurable.

Purpose of the Role

This is a senior individual contributor role in a lean team working on the highest priority problems across the business. You’ll drive end-to-end delivery of data and analytics projects across Sales, Operations, Marketing and Finance, acting as the Head of Analytic’s right hand on the work that matters most.

You’ll flex across analytics, reporting, data quality and ad hoc problem-solving as priorities shift, owning your backlog with a clear focus on moving revenue, conversion and margin metrics.

This role suits someone who’s a true data all-rounder, equally at home building a dashboard, writing a pipeline query, digging into a data quality issue, and presenting findings to a senior leader.

About You

You have a commercial mindset and communicate well across all levels of the organisation. You connect analytical work to outcomes, quantify the revenue or margin impact of a finding, and build the business case from the data.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • 7+ years across data science, analytics and/or engineering, with breadth across sales, operations and finance
  • Advanced SQL and Python skills across large, complex datasets and repeatable analytical pipelines
  • Strong Power BI capability including semantic models, dashboards and visualisations trusted by senior leaders
  • Hands-on experience with data quality: profiling, testing and resolving issues at source
  • Practical experience with AI and LLM tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GPT or similar)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, from a quick Teams summary to a board-ready insight pack
  • Experience in propensity modelling, customer retention, segmentation or LTV is highly regarded

  • Own analytics projects from problem definition to adoption, with full accountability for quality and impact

  • Drive retention insight through churn, renewal and customer value analysis in partnership with Sales

  • Write clean, maintainable SQL and Python and build Power BI dashboards and semantic models at scale
  • Uphold best practice across documentation, version control and QA

  • Support colleagues with guidance and peer review
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering on pipeline and governance improvements
