We’re currently seeking an experienced, reliable, female SIL House Lead to support a male participant with complex behaviours and high physical support needs. This is a permanent part-time, role located near Tweed heads. The role requires a calm, confident support worker who can provide consistent structure, emotional regulation support, and safe, proactive behaviour management.
This role is open to male applicants only, in line with the participant’s assessed support needs and documented preference
About the Role
As a Support Worker in the SIL House Leader role, you will provide Supported Independent Living services that promote safety, independence, and emotional stability for a participant with complex behavioural needs. This includes personal care, meal preparation, and supporting the participant to build predictable routines, healthy habits, and meaningful daily structure. You will play a key role in implementing behaviour support strategies, maintaining a regulated home environment, and ensuring the participant feels supported both at home and in the community.
This role requires support from workers who can safely manage physical tasks and high intensity behavioural presentations.
Key Accountabilities
- Support with daily living tasks and personal care
- Implement behaviour support strategies and uphold safety plans
- Prepare nutritious meals and support healthy routines
- Maintain structure, predictability, and emotional regulation
- Encourage community participation where appropriate
- Support the development of independent living skills
- Maintain accurate documentation and incident reporting
Roster Details
- 1 week on (Monday to Monday)
- 1 week off: Rest and recharge
Required Certifications
- NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card)
- Working with Children Check
- NDIS Orientation Module and Infection Prevention and Control
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver’s Licence
Essential Experience & Requirements
- Experience supporting individuals with complex behaviours, including high intensity or escalated presentations
- Confidence implementing behaviour support plans and de escalation strategies
- Physical capability to safely support a tall, physically strong participant
- Ability to remain calm, grounded, and solutions focused under pressure
- Female applicants only, due to participant preference and support requirements
Desirable (but not mandatory)
- Maybo Training – Positive Behaviour Support or similar
- Manual Handling certification
