Position Overview

As a Support Worker you will be required to provide a high standard of practical support through therapeutic programs for young people living in residential out-of-home care. We are looking for confident, compassionate, resilient individuals who can manage and respond to complex behaviours, provide support through daily routines, education, recreational lifestyle support, home maintenance and hygiene. If you are able to maintain self-awareness in challenging situations, build rapport quickly, maintain relationships and work well under pressure, you are who we are looking for.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Current first aid & CPR certifications.
  • Current paid Blue Card – Working with Children Check.
  • Current open QLD driver licence.
  • Willing and able to use a company vehicle.
  • Hope and Healing course (this can be provided by YCSS).
  • Ability to complete and pass a Licensed Care Services screening check – LCS2/LCS7.
  • Reliable registered motor vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
  • Hold minimum certificate IV in a relevant field, or, actively studying to obtain (Please refer to DCYJMA Minimum Qualification Standards for all Residential Care staff in Queensland).
  • Must be comfortable and skilled in using technology.
  • The ability to work afternoons, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays.
