We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team in Bendigo, VIC. The position is full-time and based out of our office in Bendigo with an employer who values your team and solution-driven mindset. You will be available to travel to Mulwala for strategic team meetings on occasion. You will also need to be a confident, detail-oriented individual ready to thrive in a busy administrative setting and be self motivated.
As our Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of construction contracts, ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual, legislative, financial, and quality requirements. This is a senior role requiring strong commercial judgement, contract expertise, and confident stakeholder management.
Skills required:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in residential and/or commercial construction, ideally in roles such as a Contract Manager, Contract Administrator, or Project Administrator.
- Experience in the Domestic Building, Commercial and or Building Surveying industry.
- Solid understanding of Australian construction contracts, legal frameworks, and project management principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently within a collaborative team environment
Responsibilities:
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing queries and providing professional guidance.
- Identify and mitigate contractual risk
- Manage end-to-end project administration, ensuring timely and accurate documentation across all phases.
- Coordinate and track key project documents, including EOTs, RFIs, variations, and permits.
- Maintain organised and up-to-date records of contracts and all project documentation.
- Oversee the administration of construction documentation from planning through to final inspections.
- Liaise with as needed, councils, building surveyors, engineers, consultants, and clients to ensure timely approvals.
- Review technical drawings and site plans to ensure compliance with Domestic Building Regulations.
- Lead communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent YMH professionally in client meetings, project reviews, and other engagements.
- Identify, manage and resolve project-related issues promptly and effectively.
