Wunan Foundation is a leading Aboriginal development organisation based in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Its purpose is to ensure that Aboriginal people enjoy the capabilities and opportunities necessary to make positive choices that lead to independent, fulfilling lives. Wunan delivers the Journey to Empowerment Program in the East Kimberley, Provide direct mentoring, support and referrals to clients, ensuring culturally safe, strengths-based service delivery.

Wunan is seeking a mentor who has Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, strong communication, record-keeping skills, cultural safety knowledge to work with a team of enthusiastic team members working in a culturally safe environment.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver one-on-one mentoring and practical support.
  • Assist clients with Cashless Debit Card processes, budgeting and service access.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and complete DEX entries.
  • Participate in outreach and community engagement.
  • Uphold Wunan policies, DSS requirements and Child Safe standards.

Requirements of the role

Essential Criteria:

Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, strong communication, record-keeping skills, cultural safety knowledge.

Desirable criteria:

Cert Ill/IV Community Services; mentoring or youth work experience.

Pre-employment requirements:

  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (not older than 6 months)
  • Current Working with children clearance
  • Current Australian unrestricted ‘C’ class Driver’s license
