Description

About this role:

The Assistant Accountant supports the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with end of month reporting, and ensuring financial transactions are processed efficiently and in accordance with Company policies.

What your day will look like:

  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports and financial statements
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts
  • Maintaining fixed asset register including depreciation calculations
  • Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, and adjustments
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assist with budget and forecasting
  • Assist with BAS, FBT, Payroll tax and other statutory reporting
  • Support internal and external audit processes
  • Maintain the integrity of the financial data within the ERP/Accounting system
  • Assist with ad hoc financial projects and analysis
  • Provide support to the Group CFO
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across the business

About you:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Experience using ERP or accounting system such as Sage, Xero, MYOB.
  • Experience in Construction, Manufacturing, Mining, or Project based Industries
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
